The Astrid.
We only recently met Astrid when she strolled into our heads one rainy afternoon quite recently, fully formed and about to cause trouble. Expect bold, colourful and fanciful things as this collection grows.
Formal but fun. Astrid likes afternoon tea with cocktail filled teapots and to extract a sense of occasion from even the most mundane of daily happenings. She sends telegraphs to the neighbours requesting their presence at 3 o’clock cocktails and always writes a thank you note.
Personality:
A raucous socialite - a young retired actress to be found in a North Yorskhire seaside terrace. Likely to pair silk / satin dresses with knee high wellies with socks folded over the tops.
Colours:
Sharp monochrome or a Wes Anderson inspired palette. Could also be tempted by loud fluorescent tones or anything shiny. She’s so changeable we never quite know!
Geographic origin:
New York born but happiest now she lives on a wild coastline in the North of England.
Design notes.
A range in its infancy but expect an eclectic mix of type and colour always with a playful vibe reminiscent of a 1950’s gelateria. Classic items can be paired with punchy coloured ink for writing that contrasts and gives personality and life to the items.
